In my opinion they must used a cheaper sapphire glass then before. Mine got scratched after some days, my old F7 or AWU got much more abuse and are still without a scratch. I let it validate by a watch…
Yeah, nah ya don't. You haven't scratched the saphire unless you've been around diamond tipped cutting tools. You've likely scratched the oleophobic coating on top of the sapphire.
Garmin is known to put on coatings that scratch, you can polish the coating away and it will look like new.

I have a scratch on my 51 mm solar fenix 8. On my fenix 7 pro sapphire solar I scratched what I believe is the coating on the glass, but not the glass itself. On the 8, I'm pretty sure the sapphire is scratched.

That's why i insuranced the watch. It's too expensive not doing it. But this looks really nasty. Try calling Garmin and asking for a solution. Good luck.
