Heart rate without being worn

Hello, I've noticed recently that without being worn, my Fenix 8 AMOLED believes that I'm wearing it, and I can see heart rate counts. This messes up my stats completely. I wear it almost 24 hours, but when I'm on the beach, I put it in my bag, and the heart rate keeps counting so at the of the day my average goes from 50 or the like to 70 etc..

Anyone else?

No issue here. Here are photos of the watch on my wrist and off the wrist. Maybe you have bad sensors.

Thank you! Well, see mine... it keeps working if the sensor is touching something; only 'up in the air' does the sensor light go off and stop reading.

Mine does as well. Pretty sure it’s normal. My F7 and 935 did it. There are also posts on the web about it happening. I would try to find a material that it doesn’t do it with and wrap it up in that when you out it in your bag.

Ah ok, but it shouldn't be normal. I had other watches (cheaper) and they were OK. If the sensors don't "see" the blood, how can it work? I'll probably open a case with Garmin. Thanks for your feedback.
