Shot tracking and tempo training not working

Shot tracking in golf doesn’t seem to work at all and tempo training does nothing. Bought this watch last week predominantly for the golf features and I’m not getting these advertised features out of the watch sadly.

Update June 20, 2025:

Garmin engineers are investigating concerns with Golf shot tracking and tempo training. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused. We are currently investigating to figure out what caused this issue so that we can get it resolved more permanently. We have had some success in the meantime getting users to be able to work around the issue with the steps below.

Start a round of golf while at the course, on hole 1.
As soon as the hole is displaying on the watch, press the top left button, and select power off.
Press the top left button again to power the watch back on. After a few moments, the watch will prompt the option to resume, save, or discard the round in-progress.
Select resume the round in progress and AutoShot should work as expected throughout the round.

We recognize the above steps are not ideal, and don't consider that to be an acceptable fix, but a temporary work around so that you can record your data until we're able to get a fix in place. Please know that this issue is currently being investigated.

Do you have any update? I have the same issue recently, I have to reboot the watch before playing golf. But for Tempo training app, it doesn't recognize a hit at all. This is so frustrated and need to be solved asap

Same problem here and the same fix; - Power cycle before every new round. That said Just now, evening 17th July, I discovered that new firmware is available!!! Having my fingers crossed and hope this will fix it. If not, please advice how to downgrade firmware.

Tengo el mismo problema con el Autoshot y el entrenamiento de Tempo. Ayer se me descargó la versión 15.33 y he probado de nuevo el entrenamiento de Tempo y tampoco a funcionado. Hoy probaré en el campo el funcionamiento del Autoshot.

Yesterday my Fenix 8 was updated to version 15.33. The first thing I did was try the Tempo Training app, and it didn't work. Today I'll test Autoshot on the golf course.
