Does Fenix 8 have the ECG app available in the US?

I want to discontinue use of my Fitbit. I noticed the article Fenix 8 ECG app could detect afib. Fitbit detected my afib in 2023. Hope my new Fenix 8 can have the same function. The ECG app was not listed in the Garmin Connect app. Fitbit offered the functionality for free. Does Garmin do the same?

Yes. Perhaps peruse the manual. It's available online. You were looking in the wrong place.

Except the literal Fenix 8 manual says nothing about ECG. Go ahead, search "ECG" in the manual:

Actually they were looking the right place, if they literally looked in the Garmin Connect app (and not, say, the Connect IQ app, as suggested by their other topic which mentioned the [Connect IQ] "app store").

To use the ECG app on your Garmin watch, you must first complete the setup in the Garmin Connect app.

You *should* have access to ECG functionality for Fenix 8 in the US.

The ECG app is not in the Connect IQ app store, it is installed via the Garmin Connect app. This link has a video and text instructions: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/garmin-technology/health-science/ecg/use/
