Anyone else facing this issue? Nap was not detected on two different occasions for me.
A lot of people have been reporting this issue for months but it still works for some others. Seems the HR conditions to detect naps have changed (by "design") and that screwed up nap detection for some…
Yeah I've seen multiple posts about it, personally I've never had any issues in the past. I'm thinking of doing a factory reset to see if that helps, but it's a huge hassle.
last time a saw naps detected was on fw 11.*
Oh that's easy. Just update your Fenix 7 to the latest Software Release 21.19 and after that both of your Fenixes won't detect a nap.
Full factory reset didn't help either.
No it won't help. Same thing with F7 & 21.19.
I just knew you'd like that.
But to be serious: If I'd be you I'd keep the F7 b/o with the older unit you 'd at least have the chance to downgrade to a level where it is still not completely bug free (there won't be such a version) but where the core functions work sufficiently. Accutally I was satisfied with 15.77 and the only reason I'd wish I could upgrade is that I liked CIQ very much, which is no longer available when the system is as downlevel.
I'm doing right now a comparison with two F7-like devices - one on 15.77 which is such a version and one on 21.19. I wear them simultaneously and a week into the test the results are devastating already. Yes - again: no CIQ with 15.77 but an overall good and reliable working system with no voice promts!. I hoped for a better outcome and still do as for later bugfix versions but I suspect that is in vain given the way Garmin went with it's firmware lately.
If the quality of firmware for F8 is nearly to same as with F7 the point is that for F8 you just won't have a satisfactory working level to revert to. The model came out way after the firmware went into steep decline.
To check whether the software for F8 would be - maybe - better than for F7 was the reason behind my sneaking into the F8 forum to begin with. I see: Obviously it's not.
