I doubt that your problem can be solved by an update. Your update has probably failed.

I would probably try to update maps through garmin express..

I turned off automatic update and exclusively update via Garmin Express.

Good hints - thanks.. unfortunately the watch is not found by garmin express anymore… at least i can read the time every 20 minutes for about 10 minutes ;-) 

So how can I reinstall it? Garmin express unfortunately does not recognize the watch anymore

You can do a factory reset

mine loading maps 31 and the watch just shut off and no longer can be use nor operating

is very slow, please updated the lag and maps this is the poor watch 

I have already tried the following steps:

• Hard reset: Did not solve the problem.

• Factory reset via settings: Also did not solve the issue and actually made it worse. Since then, the watch has been stuck in a boot loop.

• Garmin Express: Not an option, as the watch is no longer recognized by either the operating system or Garmin Express.

• Master reset (as described in the Garmin Forum: Garmin Coach glance send epix pro gen 2 into boot loop - Public Beta 18.xx - Fenix 7 Family - Public Beta Reports - Garmin Forums): Doesn't work either, as there's no beep sound during the process.

Currently, the watch is still stuck in a very slow boot loop. It takes about 30–40 minutes to get past the "Loading map 28" screen, then proceeds to "Loading map 31", after which it restarts automatically and the whole cycle begins again

So I'm kind of lost now. 

I really was happy with the watch - then along came 15.31.....

I have the same problem just today after its automatic update. My Fenix 8 51mm AMOLED is dead. 

Hard reset didn't work. Only repeating booting and loading map until map 26 and then black screen. The green light on the back is on and off sometimes though. 

Couldn't do factory reset by holding down start/back/power. Couldn't hear any beep and didn't see anything on the screen.
