Ah yes, I've never noticed that before. However, my watch only uses about 1% battery during sleep anyway. But you're right — why would you need a connection to your phone or Wi-Fi while sleeping? I can…
There was a small bug I noticed in the new Fenix 8 platform, that was also reported in the beta section of this forum. Basically when sleep mode (with power saving mode enabled) toggled off, the sleep…
Ya this is dumb give us a power save schedule then so you can use one of the other. Some of us don't sleep with a watch on and hate having to turn it on and off every morning.
This option is removed due to some issues caused by this feature. I have posted it here in public forum a few weeks ago https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-8-series/406396/bug-13-35-sleep-watch-face-remains-active-after-manually-deactivating-sleep-mode/1922527#1922527 to let people know and upvote the issue in beta forum.
the same, very inconvenient , this option available in fenixn7 but not in fenix 8, i hope garmin can fix it and link power management option in sleep kode
this is so disappointing. what should have been from the beginning is have a toggle in the Sleep Focus that allows one to use Battery Saver mode directly. and as noted, they could simply put a warning if they want to alert users of this potential issue. (I use battery mode to turn everything off during sleep except OHR)...saves me a lot of battery endurance with me using AOD during waking hours.

you can see my disagreement elsewhere. Garmin axed a very important feature in favor of a couple customers who didn't pay attention to what they were doing. they can learn from their mistakes and not do it again.
if Garmin is going to remove this functionality, why not offer the ability then to turn off BT or Wifi under the sleep focus, thereby allowing a similar sort of functionality that previously existed?
There was a small bug I noticed in the new Fenix 8 platform, that was also reported in the beta section of this forum. Basically when sleep mode (with power saving mode enabled) toggled off, the sleep watch face remained until you palmed the screen off. Daymode watch face didn't come up until you do that.
The fact that sleep mode power settings are not even in the focus mode menu, but only available in the sleep glance, was a perfect way to prevent an unwanted activation. I rather suspect that the software teams were not able (or didn't bother) to solve this bug, and just removed the feature instead. Easy and cheap fix.
Very disappointing from a watch with a four-figure price range.
Where could you set it so that energy saving mode would be active during sleep mode? I’m still on firmware 13.37 and can’t find it anywhere.

if you are still on FW13. you can get to it by going to the sleep widget/glance... select settings (hold down up button), then toggle battery saver on.
