Golf shot tracking

Shot tracking still isn't working,unless you restart the watch after starting the round of golf.

I have reported this in both beta and on here but because Garmin can't answer the question they lock the topic so you can't comment on it.

  • Accepted,but when you have paid over £1000 for a watch and they keep breaking things with new updates THEN ignore the issue for 4 weeks before acknowledging there's a problem what do you expect?

    It's now almost 9 weeks since it was brought to their attention, pathetic if you ask me.

    The fact of the matter is that we are working on this fix, and it will be resolved. Continuing to press in the forums will not speed up this process any, as we are working on the fix that will be released to all users...not just those using the Golf features on these watches. 

    I have explained to you via direct message why the issue was not handled in the beta program, and you will be notified once the fix is available.

  • Apologies but as you can imagine it is very frustrating when you have paid a large amount for a watch that does not work properly and then it seems as though you are being ignored.

  • I can assure you we are not ignoring you, we are working on getting this resolved at all levels. I also understand how it would seem that way from your perspective after the initial report you gave to us. 

    I am sorry we were unable to prevent the concern prior to the beta going public. 

    As the Golf Forum admin, going forward I will be hands on with golf related concerns from here onward to prevent this from getting missed both on the public software and assisting with the golf related beta reports. 

  • I’m just happy there’s a workaround. There are issues with every app out there these days. I can’t count how many times (insert company of choice) has released a new OS version with regression bugs. Many times there are no workarounds. Yeah it’s annoying to have to restart the watch before tracking a round but at least that gets it into a workable state.

  • Took my brand new fenix 8 solar out for a game today and no shot tracking.

    Disappointed would be an understatement after shelling out $1750 for the latest and greatest.

    This needs to be fixed very soon, or I'll be returning the watch for a refund.

  • I’m on a Fenix 8 software version 15.32. Still not working. When do we expect a fix for this. 

  • Same problem. Fenix 5 had no problems. Upgraded to 8x and it worked ish one round. Another round had one hole show up on shot maps and today no shot maps. Also it updates the course 5 minutes after I start the round. 

  • It's getting beyond a joke now,the length of time it is taking to fix this issue.

    Watch is NOT fit for purpose when it is advertised as having auto shot tracking.
