Fenix 8 – Sensors Not Working After Firmware 13.37 Update

Hi all,

Yesterday, I updated my Garmin Fenix 8 to firmware version 13.37. Since then, the device is no longer functioning correctly: most of the built-in sensors (especially the heart rate monitor and step counter) appear to be turned off or completely unresponsive.

I’ve tried restarting the watch and checking the settings under Sensors & Accessories, but nothing seems to fix the issue. The sensors worked perfectly before the update, so it seems likely that this is related to the new firmware.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues after updating to 13.37?

Is Garmin aware of this bug, and is there any known workaround or planned fix?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Update 13.37 has been installed on my watch since April 26th and I haven't noticed any anomalies...

  • I'm experiencing the same issue. Yesterday, after automated update the watch started lagging, not able to use bluetooth, doesn't connect to PC. Some how the reboot themselves every 15-20 minutes. All my attempts to reset to factory setting were unsuccessful. I took the watch to the local service center and they said that I have to replace them. I've purchased them oversees and now I'm trying to contact global office to get some instructions on the replacement procedure.
