Garmin, Fix your dimming issues with Fenix 8 Amoled

Why don't you fix the problem when it has been around for 7 months? The problem is WITH YOUR FIRMWARE, not with someone's eyes, I'm literally 24 years old and there's nothing wrong with my eyes, I've never had such a problem with Tactix 7 Amoled, it's impossible to use watch in a low-light place

  • I think we need to point out this bug, aka design problem, more prominently. Maybe a dedicated website for this bug, Reddit,Social media, ..
Apparently it won't be taken seriously otherwise.

  • Yeah, I don't understand why Garmin hasn't corrected this. Garmin says this is by design and can't be changed, but I don't believe that. Every sensor is controlled by software, and every software can be changed, you just have to want it and do it. I've never heard of a sensor that's pre-programmed, let alone for such a setting.

  • Garmin watchfaces do not respond well to the AOD max brightness setting in the dark. When my AOD screen dims to +/-30%, I make a wrist movement and the screen gives 60% brightness (while in setting 100% brightness is enabled) on the Amoled watch in the dark. If I shine light from my phone on the watch screen, the AOD screen goes to 100% brightness on a Garmin watchface. I have a downloaded watchface (Falcon X) that is not from Garmin, were I do get 100% brightness with a single wrist movement.

  • You won't achieve this behaviour. Light sensor instantly monitors environment and adapt brightness to detected levels. That's why your display is dimmed after awaken in dark room.

  • That's ridiculous that I need to constantly shake my arm to get acceptable brightness while waiting for GPS in daylight cloudy outdoors
