Watch: Fenix 8 43mm AMOLED

Issue:
Race Calendar and Primary Race glances are always empty.
Pre-existing race doesn't show up even after "send to device".
New freshly created races don't show up either.
Don't see them in either these glances or in a Calendar glance.
Pre-requisites:
- I have several races in my Garmin connect for this year ("no priority")
- I have some workouts as well in my Garmin Connect calendar
- I have just created a new race (also "no priority") just to check
- I have a new Garmin Fenix 8 43mm AMOLED on a 13.37 firmware and I'm trying to see those races on my watch
Expectations:
- I expect to see my primary race in a Primary Race glance after the sync
- I expect to see my primary and other races in the Race Calendar glance after the sync
Actual behaviour:
- Workouts (not races) do show up in a Calendar glance, in a calendar on my app and on the web. Even those scheduled on the same day as some races.
- Pre-existing races however are not showing up in either Primary Race or a Race Calendar glances. Not visible in Calendar glance either (by design?).
- Newly created races don't show up either
- Selecting "send to device" on pre-existing as well as on newly created races has no effect
- Creating a new race and saving it also has no effect.
- No matter how many times I "send to device" and "sync" Race Calendar and Primary Race glances are always empty.
UPDATE
Possible workaround! Sort of.
- If there are more than one race, then it's possible to set "race/event priority" between them
- So create extra races at some time far in the future that you don't care about
- Now set priorities for all the important races/events.
- Only one can be "Primary", the rest need to be "supporting". Both types seem to be propagated to a watch.
- "NO PRIORITY" doesn't show up on watch.
HOWEVER
- if an event was successfully pushed to the watch once
- editing it on the web or mobile doesn't propagate to a watch
- so if you need to edit - duplicate an event as a new one, make required changes, save, delete old event and only then sync.
