Physio True Up/Body Battery

Hi Guys

Is this suppose to work now?

Just started cycling again and my EDGE 840 doesn't "copy" the activity to my Fenix 8.

The session itself gets transfer to Garmin Connectas i icon, but not to the watch and it is also not a factor to give me minus BB on both Connect and watch.

I suspect you need both devices to support the Body Battery TrueUp, and so far I do not see the feature been added to Edge 840 yet.

  • Thx...

I just assumed that this was an update "all over" the uses Physio True up.

Strange that Garmin hasn't push this to the top end Cycling computers when i assumed that this is the most common way to have different devices....

  • Edge computers are activity trackers and stress, the major factor affecting Body Battery is not measured during activities. Some Edge computers can do a stand alone Stress Test but this again is not included in the Body Battery calculation.

Garmin's advice when recording with a device which does not include Body Battery.

  • it didn't work for me from my Forerunner 955 to the Fenix 8...

it worked partially...it copied the history properly showing my morning drop of 84 to 70 or so when I started the new watch, but then it plummeted to something like 10 immediately. after about 24 hours, things seemed back to a reasonable level.

  • I've been using an Edge Device and a Garmin watch for years.

For me the simple answer to start an activity on both my Edge Device and watch. At the end of the ride, I discard the ride on my Edge. The next time my Edge syncs with Garmin Connect the latest activities that are not the Edge will be downloaded to the Edge.

    My reasoning is twofold

    1. The Edge is specific to cycling and there are metrics collected on the watch that are not collected on the Edge (i.e. Body Battery). I want all my metrics to be collected on one device which at the current time is the Watch.

    2. I don't think it is particularly safe to ride and be looking at a small watch screen for navigation and data screens that I want to view during a ride (especially when riding gavel) so, I use the Edge as my HUD (heads up display) and I can easily see my navigation screen and other data screens. I have thought about getting the Gamrin Edge Explore which is more of a touring device and doesn't have all the things like say an Edge 840 has but, it is considerably cheaper. There is in ride data on my 840 such as ClimbPro that I still want which is not on the Explore so, of the time being, I am sticking with the 840.
