Fenix 8 Connected to phone, but notifications aren't popping up on watch

Already tried everything and even did a factory reset, notifications went back for a while but then eventually stopped working. I'm tired of resetting the watch

  • Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. There are a number of settings that can impact smart notifications. Here are some recommendations. 

    • Ensure the watch software is on the latest version using Garmin Express.
    • Ensure the watch OS and the Connect are also up to date. 
    • Keep the app open and running in the background on the phone. 
    • Ensure the phones background refresh is enabled, and avoid using low power mode/battery saver on the phone.
    • Be sure the notifications are enabled in the watch's Connectivity menu, as well as in the watch's Focus mode menu.

    If this issue continues, I would recommend pairing the watch with the phone again from scratch with these steps: 

    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone. 
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)
