Body Battery not syncing using TrueUp?

first glitch I'm noticing in moving from my Forerunner 955 to the Fenix 8: it starts me off with a body battery of 5. TrueUp is supposed to transfer this over properly, right? The glance seems to show the right level from last night and my run, but then it plummets at the time I added the new watch to my account.

Historically, TrueUp for Body Battery was indeed not supported. It is even still stated at Body Battery Frequently Asked Questions | Garmin Customer Support:

Historically, TrueUp for Body Battery was indeed not supported. It is even still stated at Body Battery Frequently Asked Questions | Garmin Customer Support:

Body battery does not utilize TrueUp so you may see a difference between the body battery stats from one watch to the other.

However, recent models like Fenix 8 already do support TrueUp also for Body Battery in the latest firmware version, but for it to work, both devices have to support the feature, and AFAIK at FR955 it is not yet the case. You may need to wait and see till (or whether) Garmin adds it to the older generations of watches.

good to know. it's weird how it just went off a cliff. it new about the body battery from my 955 but seemed to have overridden it even after ingesting the data. the good news is it slowly charged itself over the afternoon and after even a mediocre night of sleep, i think the levels are reasonable again.
