Garmin connect battery drain

Hi! I recently replaced a foreunner 245 with a fenix 8 amoled 47mm. After connecting my new watch, garmin connect drains battery from my phone(s24) from running in the background. Have anyone else experienced this?

-Firmware is up to date on both devices.

-I do not have a third party watch face.

-Autosync is turned off.

I am starting to get very upset by this.....

I had the same issue. Problem was solved by making sure the old watch was also removed from the phone's Bluetooth connections, delete cache from the Garmin Connect app and restart the app.

Thanks, Oula! That resolved the problem for me, too. As I switched from Fenix 7 to Fenix 8, the Fenix 7 was still present in Connect and also in the Bluetooth Connections. Deleting it, resolved the battery…

Uninstall/Reinstall the app. Sometimes it happens.

I do have the same problem (Fenix 8 43 mm and Galaxy S23). Connect drains the battery of the S23 due to extremely high background energy consumption. Did you find any solution for this?

The only solution I have found so far is to delete the app. I am pretty disppointed, since I miss out on most of the features without the app. I deleted it 2 weeks ago, and will probably try to install it again soon, hoping it will be okay.

I had the same thing going from a F8 Solar to T8, deleted Connect, shut down my S24U for a couple min, then reinstalled. Been fine since.
