Turn By Turn

Hello, I am contacting you regarding a route tracking issue on my Fenix ​​8. I am unable to activate turn notifications and other navigation prompts. Only the route appears in pink on the map, without detailed guidance. I have noticed that other users are experiencing the same issue. Is this a known bug? If so, is a fix planned soon? This feature is essential for a watch in this price range, and I would like to know what solutions you can offer me. Thank you in advance for your help.

  • The watch requires a file containing turn-by-turn directions. They are not included in a GPX from somewhere.

    Simply save the GPX track in Garmin Connect and then send it from there to the watch.

    Then it should work.

  • I will add that you may need to turn navigation on from the course settings in the activity menu, before starting the activity.

    • Type of activity: Which activity are you using route tracking for (running, hiking, cycling, etc.)?
    • Route creation: How was the route generated? Did you use watch, Garmin Connect, import a GPX file, or create it through another platform?
    • Routing settings: What routing settings are currently selected? 
    • Navigation settings: Have you enabled Routing and Guidance Alerts in the route settings?
