[BUG] 13.35 Sleep Watch Face remains active after manually deactivating Sleep Mode

I have posted this issue 4 months ago in the beta forum regarding the 12.xx cycle. We have 13.35 now as Live software but the issue is still not fixed.

Manually deactivating sleep mode does not revert the watch face to the default one. I believe this issue also occurs when sleep mode is deactivated by opening the Morning Report before the configured wake-up time.

Edit: Thanks, @BBK.Paul, for posting a video in the comments. It seems that the issue does not occur when, after disabling sleep mode, you turn off the screen by covering it with your palm and then reactivate it by tapping. To reproduce the issue, you need to return to the watch face using either the back button (the bottom-right one) or the swipe-back gesture on the screen.

Edit2: Above comment seems not to be precise enough. As @BBK.Paul showed in the comment in the video there is no issue on his watch. For now I do not know which settings cause the issue.

  • I have no issue.  I'm on 13.35.  Did you try soft reset the watch?

  • @BBK.Paul Thank for your video. It seems the issue is more complicated than I initially thought. After disabling sleep mode, if I turn off the screen by covering the watch with my palm and then reactivate it by tapping, it appears to work correctly, just as you show in your video. However, when I try to return to the watch face by swiping or pressing the back button (the bottom-right one), the sleep watch face remains.

  • Try with the buttons, and no issue on mine.

  • it's getting funny .... so there is another condition ....

  • I have the issue as well.

Sleep mode automatically deactivates when I go into the morning report, and after finishing and exiting the watch face displayed is the sleep one. I have to manually enable and disable sleep mode for it to go back to the regular watch face.

  • I believe I have identified the setting causing the issue. You need to have Battery Saver enabled for sleep mode. When I go to Watch Settings > Power Manager > Battery Saver > Edit > Watch Face > Low Power and set it to "Don't Change," everything works fine. However, when it's set to "Low Power," the issue occurs. So it seems this is the root cause.

Enabling Battery Saver during sleep mode is quite complicated due to poor UX. The option isn’t available directly in the Watch Settings menu. Instead, you need to navigate to:
Glances > Sleep Score > Top-right menu > Settings > Battery Saver and set it to "On."

Could someone confirm if they’re experiencing the same issue? Once I get confirmation, I’ll submit a more detailed bug report.

  • I landed here since I discovered same in mine! Same watch same software. This happens only if you have a CIQ watch face.

  • No, you are wrong. I've got the default stock watch face on my watch

  • Right. For once it worked normally with the stock one. Now no matter which face...I get that bug.

  • Not only... It also disables the Touch! I'm testing it and the only way to get the watchface back is to set it again and to resume the touch is..reboot!
