Fenix 8 Crashing Using Maps During Activity and While Saving Activities

My Fenix 8 51mm AMOLED - Running 13.31

Yesterday while logging a hiking activity, watch suddenly died while changing zoom levels on my map. Screen went blank, blue triangle/restart, and I was able to resume activity.

A few days ago, was logging another hiking activity, looked down to see watch had just spontaneously stopped at some point and it was asking me to save/resume activity.

Some sort of instability with 13.31? Prior to this, I haven't had any crashing/restart issues with my F8.

Anyone else having these issues?

Yes, lots of random crashes since 13.31 on Fenix 8 47mm Solar. Finally rolled back to 12.35. No more crashes.

It’s a known issue. I had it once on 12.35 but not had it yet on 13.31. Well known on the F7 forums from around firmware 18 ish onwards. Lots of people with F7/F7 pro (me included when I had one ) backdated to 17 and had no issues but some did.
unfortunately for F8 there were many other bugs pre 13 so may be worth just waiting it out for a fix.

The same issue occurred with Golf Activity on Software Version 13.31—the system reboots when the activity is saved.
