Bluetooth headphones cutting out Fexix 8 Amoled 47mm

Have just bought my first Garmin and have tried two different sets of bluetooth headphones to try and listen to Spotify playlists. 10-15mins into a run the music starts cutting out. This happens regardless of the route/surroundings and with both sets of headphones fully charged…..haven’t found a fix as yet. Help!!

  • Hello. We are sorry you are experiencing Bluetooth connection issues. Please review the following FAQs to assist in troubleshooting headphone connectivity.

I Am Having Bluetooth Headphone Connection Issues With My Watch

If the headphones used have an additional footpod/Accelerometer sensor feature, ensure it is not paired as a footpod. (Look for "FP" in the sensor details of the paired headphones) Specific to Jabra headphones, we have this; Audio Cuts Out When Using My Jabra Headphones With My Garmin Music Watch

Some customers have experienced an improvement to reception by temporarily disabling the watch's Bluetooth connection with their phone. This is not a permanent fix, but may help your experience while we investigate.

If you are not seeing any improvements, our engineers would love to investigate this further. For this, please feel free to reach out to me via Private Message.

  • Hi Laurie,

Same issue here... with two different headphones, I have some lag issues between my headphone and my brand-new Fenix 8 ! That's really a shame as it was working perfectly with my previous Fenix 6... it is liked a downgrade, and that's really annoying when you buy a +1K€ watch... I'm using as well a Garmin Sensor but with or without it, the issue is the same. Usually, it starts OK, but after couple minutes, it start bugging, with a lagging music that we cannot listen. I noticed some improvements (or it works slightly better...) when they were no voice linked to the training workout. I'm wondering if there is not a sync issue between the music (played by Spotify) and the Garmin voice giving you the pace / next circuit, etc.

Could you please invest with the eng. team and let us know ? That's really disappointing and I'm almost considering taking back my old Fenix 6 for the Paris Marathon mid-april. Withtout music, it would be a pity.

Thanks for your support and update on this KEY topic !

  • I am experiencing the same issue - new fenix 8, first outing, audio starts dropping out around once per second, which was temporarily cured by turning off / on the headphones. Happened 5 times over ~2 hours.
The exact same headphones (anker p2 soundcore mini) have been working just fine with my old Fenix 6 for months
