Fenix 8 43mm software problem

I am having trouble with my Fenix 8 since the last update which was today. System reacts very slowly, screen does not reacts, sometimes freezes, and it restarted few times. I also tried to restart it but with no improvement. Also the depth sensor fails during the start. Software version is 13.31 now. What should I do with it? I am leaving for a diving vacation in 3 days.

  • If it were me I would first make sure the watch settings were backed up in garmin connect. Click on the watch in connect then system , then restore and reset, then backup now.

    I would then hard reset the watch, either from the watch settings or by pressing buttons ( google hard reset garmin fenix 8).

    If after hard reset the watch works then restore your settings and you are good to go.

    If not I would head over to the beta forums , find and download the last stable version ( 12.35 or 12.38 ) and follow the instructions to backdate the firmware. You will have to place the downloaded file onto your watch using a PC, unplug and then let it backdate the firmware . Hopefully after this the watch will boot up ok and you can reload your settings and you are good to go for your holiday.

    If not you may need to send the watch, back but others may have better ideas.
