Crooked (rotated) screen QC issue

Picked up a Fenix 8 AMOLED 51mm today and was disappointed to see that the screen is rotated counterclockwise by a few degrees compared to the bezel. I also saw this defect (although way more subtle) with an Enduro 3 I have.

Now 2/2 watches I purchased have this pattern. Unfortunately Garmin support won't acknowledge the (clear) pattern and the only recourse is to return within 30 days.

Can anyone else confirm if they have this defect on your watch? I can't imagine this is rare given that both of my watches in this generation have this defect. My previous 6X was perfectly aligned.

This is not a defect. It is intentional. As a burn-in precaution, the display image regularly moves by a few pixels.

As I mentioned in another comment this isn't pixel shifting. If it was, you'd expect the vertical bar to be centered or positioned too far to the right, which it never was. I also have the same defect…

From what I've seen and read, this is specific to the 51mm watches. A commenter on my reddit post about the same topic exchanged four 51mm watches and they all had this issue. I also have a rotated screen on an Enduro 3.

I tested all watch faces and they were visibly rotated counter clockwise. The actual pixel grid is too so I think you're right in that it's actually the screen.

47mm AMOLED is aligned correctly.

Agreed, that looks as it should. I'm a bit shocked Garmin support denied two watches already claiming they can't see the problem when it's pretty obvious at least to my eyes.

Definitely could be, but I bought the enduro 3 and Fenix 8 4 months apart and both had this manufacturing defect. I also noticed its visible even on reviewer videos on YouTube so it must be widespread.

The wattch isn't as flat as it could be but its still measurable. You have about 0.8deg CCW rotation relative to the minute narks which would present as about 0.5mm offset at the perimeter of the scree.

Yup mine is also misaligned. Didn’t notice it earlier due to the default watchface.
