Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm on 12.35 firmware, GPS: v2.11, Ephemeris: Current - Not able to acquire GPS Signal

Hi,

Is there anything wrong with Garmin navigation system? Today (05 Feb 2025) My (Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm on 12.35 firmware, GPS: v2.11, Ephemeris: Current) not able to acquire GPS Signal, even after 1 minute. It was working fine yesterday (04 Feb 2025).

I have restarted the watch

Synced with Garmin Connect via Mobile

Synced with Garmin Express via Laptop.

Updated to the latest maps version.

Nothing works! The premium watch is useless now without GPS!

Please assist!

Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. If you are not able to acquire GPS signal, I would recommend installing the software version 12.38. You can do this using Garmin Express. Then test…

I think there was an issue with EPO/CPE file on the watch. Yesterday it didn't work for me but atm it works fine. There is already a thread related to it.

I had the same issue on Feb4. I started my run but no tracking data displayed on Garmin connect.

Just had a look at mine this morning, acquisition was slow but did acquire after about 3 minutes.

Mine is now also acquiring a signal, but very slowly. This is odd since before the Blue Triangle issue it would acquire right away

Mine would take about 10-15 secs previously, but also I did not have the GPS reboot issue.

Hi HAYZZZ. I had the same problem. I started a thread and Garmin have some steps to try to resolve it. Seemed to help the problem but not fully resolve it. Fenix 8 not connecting to GPS - fēnix 8 Series - Wearables - Garmin Forums

Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. If you are not able to acquire GPS signal, I would recommend installing the software version 12.38. You can do this using Garmin Express. Then test the GPS again. It may take longer than normal to acquire satellites the first time.

If this does not resolve the concern, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.
