Hi all
after a nearly 10yr break from running Marathons, I want to do one again at the end of April. I started one of the adaptive Garmin Coach Plans last November and am now ~12 weeks before the race. put in a pace target and try to stick to the 5 days / week for training with two days "permitted" for long runs.
So far, however, the longest run the coach put into the plan was 1hr06min. I'm now in week 4 of the "Build" Phase of the plan, with ~4 weeks left in Build and then ~6 weeks in "Peak"
Given that there are now less than 10 weeks left before tapering begins, I am getting a bit nervous - looking back in time, when I trained 10 years ago, I would have been running 1h30 long-runs 3 months before a race and ramping up that weekly long-run to 2-3hrs in the month before the race.
Will the garmin coach plan do that as well, or am I missing something?! I want to avoid running the marathon unprepared...
Has anybody used the adaptive feature recently and can share their long run ramp-up ahead of the race?
Thanks and best
Stefan
