No details on Fenix 8 MIP Topo maps?

For the life of me, I can't figure out why I'm not getting any topographical details such as landmarks on my map. I've updated the maps in Garmin Express, turned the watch off and then back on, and nothing seems to work. I also find it odd that I can't simply go into GPS settings without first going into an activity. I had no issues with this on my Tactix Delta. I'm loving just about everything with this new Fenix 8 but maps is one of the core elements behind a Garmin device. This should be something that is working 100% out of the box.

Update: Apparently the maps were not installed correctly from the start (Only 7.3 GB). I had to remove the maps directly from the watch via WiFi and then reinstall them using the same method. This downloaded the full version 2024.20 (10.7 GB). Using Garmin Express did not work.

I have the same issue. On my Enduro 3 I did not have this issue. But on my recently purchased Fenix 8 it appears I have an old map and I'm unable to update it through Garmin Express the latest is 2024.10.

But on my recently purchased Fenix 8 it appears I have an old map and I'm unable to update it through Garmin Express; the latest is 2024.10. I tried removing the map on my watch and then reinstalling it over Wi-Fi like you did however my watch does not show the topo for the Americas on my watch. Only in Garmin Express it shows.
