Cannot setup ECG on Fenix 8 in Germany after backdating from 13.18 to 12.35 and leaving Beta program

Hi all

being a user in Germany,I want to use the ECG feature. However it's not in the Beta.

So I left the beta program on the watch settings, backdated to 12.35 from the 13.18 beta, removed the watch from the garmin connect app and reconnected. Garmin App version is 5.8.1 on IOS 18.2.1.

Still, I don't see the option to acticate the ECG App. Also not after sleeping it over (thinking that something might happen in a nightly cycle in the backend).

Has anyone else experienced this and can point me to a resolution?

Hello, I think you need to reset the watch.

If doing a hard reset (wiping it to factory defaults) doesn't work, call garmin support.

I tried everything by now - reset and restore backup, reset without restoring backup, even setting the language to English (one never knows ;-) )…. Nothing :-/

Do the reinstallation without the backup.

I received another hint and that led me to a setting i had not seen in years. When going on my Garmin Account (from within the app), I noticed that it still had me living in South Africa (where I lived years ago), despite having changed all „visible“ settings to Germany. Once I switched there, whoops - the ECG app works.
