Low brightness display Fenix 8 amoled 47mm

I bought a Fenix 8 last week and the brightness is very low, set to maximum, in different conditions. I came from an Epix pro gen 2 which I still have and there is no comparison. Is there no solution for this? It is really unacceptable.

Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the display brightness. Garmin has been testing this thoroughly, and have been unable to reproduce and circumstance where the display is rendered unreadable, even in low light conditions. However we are still looking for legitimate examples of this concern.

Good luck, Laurie, it's impossible to explain what you're talking about. A few posts ago, many people asked to do something, without Garmin understanding. Finally I'm sending them the idea to give them the option to turn off the auto dimming mode, like in other Garmin AMOLED watches.

You can also do it, Many emails with similar idea can be more effective.

The auto dimming is too aggressive also with Fenix 7 pro solar (MIPS display). I leave the option disabled. On the Fenix 8 amoled this issue has a bigger impact. There are absolute needing to have a "auto dimming sensitivity" selector.

A video cannot explain: smartphone or digital cameras have a very good low ligh performance and recording the screen the text result readable, while at naked eye is barely visible and almost unreadable

I have tried with numerous stock watch faces (without changing stock accent or data colour) with the same results. Turning the flashlight on temporarily raises the brightness (eureka! I thought at first) but it quickly fades to a dim level.

As others have noted, it is very difficult to take a phone video of this since the camera will automatically adjust for brightness. It's disappointing to read Garmin's repeated response that they have been "unable to reproduce the circumstances" when so many users have raised this as an issue. Maybe your collective eyesight is better than most but for the rest of us, please give us the ability to turn off (or limit the degree of) auto-dimming. Thanks.

Having the same issue with a Fenix 8 47mm, in low light the screen is very difficult to read.

Just received today new F8 51mm Amoled. Configures and update to latest version. Same issue. When I dark room display is too dimm. Why this option of automated dimming cannot be turned off?

Maybe Garmin can disclose if automated dimming enable, the battery life will reduce. I have no issue with mine. I work in the dark room for 4 or 5 hours daily.
