Active calories very low

I changed my garmin from epix pro gen 2 to fenix 8 and the count of active calories is very different.

With epix I burned about 600 kcal/day, with fenix only about the half, only 300...

Somebody have the same issue? I think is correct the value of epix not fenix, because before epix I used forerunner 265s and the values were similar

Is myfitness pal set to the laziest amount? I don’t mean the goal weight loss or weight gain per week, I mean the amount you move per day. Make it the smallest amount

Verify the body parameters in the settings user profile - weight, height, age, gender, and also the 7 days Average Resting HR, and the Max HR. Active Calories are calculated based on the ratio of your heart rate to the 7days avg Resting HR, and the Max HR. Also, if you haven't had the watch that long, it could take a few days to learn stats such as 7-day average resting HR. Wearing your watch 24/7, including during sleep, will help improve accuracy.

The body parameters are correct...

Maybe is why I use fenix 8 only from a few days...I'll wait to see if after a week the active calories will change.

After about 2 month of daily full usage of fenix 8, the issue still remain…I don’t change my life style but the smartwatch understimate the burned active calories

Could you post a link to a sample activity with active Calories lower than you expected? Please post also a screenshot of the all-day heart rate screen together with it.

I'll do it for sure.

By the way, I 'm talking about rest days too. With older garmin Smartwatch the values are very similar, now I got an half value...

The 7days average RHR can be best seen on the all-day HR page in GC Web - for example https://connect.garmin.com/modern/heart-rate/2025-02-11 (edit the date in the address to see the value on the day you were still using the old watch). With the Max HR it is not easy to find the history of changes, because the stats only show the daily max, which is not relevant. Sometimes the Max HR can be deduced from the Time in HR Zones stats of individual activities, but it is not always conclusive.

I have the same complain, so I am not the only one. When using the Cardio activity tracker after 5 minutes I have burned like 5 or 10 calories occording to the watch. I am using an hrm pro as well, on the Epix it was way higher, in line with what the Cardio devices calculate for me. Each time there is a software update for the device I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is resolved, getting a bit frustrated having bought such an expensive watch purely for this purpose and not delivering. I think it was working fine when itwas brand new though.
