I recently bought the Fenix 8 AMOLED in 47mm. While I didn’t get a chance to try the 51mm version in-store, I thought the 47mm was already quite big, and I was happy with that.
However, after buying the 47mm AMOLED, I saw that the Solar edition went on sale and is now actually better priced than what I paid for the AMOLED. This has really got me considering switching to the MIP version.
I have one question about the battery life of the solar model. I’m planning a longer sailing trip in the future, where I’ll be out in the sun for most of the day. If I only use the solar model as a watch and for occasional dives, would it essentially have unlimited battery life in those conditions? I would still have the option to charge it during the day, but I really like the idea of it having "unlimited" battery life, like the Enduro... but the Enduro doesn’t have diving capabilities. :(
