Hello,
I own since a week the Fenix 8, my first Garmin sports watch. I have some problem with the elevation and floors climbed measurement during the day.
Situation:
I am staying at home, working in a sitting position and if moving, then only on the same floor.
My watch is showing sometimes an elevation increase and sometimes a decrease. Also showing floors climbed (today 3 floors climbed and elevation decreased 6m).
I have read the support articles and I am also understanding the dependencies of the air pressure. What I do not understand is, that the watch does not take the movement into consideration. When I am sitting and not really moving, why does the watch change the elevation and counts floors climbed? It should be easy to combine the barometer measurements with the acceleration/movement measurements.
My former Coros watch did not have had this kind of problem.
Is my watch faulty or does Garmin simply not have an intelligent way to calculate elevation?
