How to recharge your watch intelligently

Bonjour,

  • I don't think the battery on an F8 is any different from any other li-ion battery.

It's not going to explode if you charge it to 100%, and it won't permanently die if it runs to single digits or zero. But if you want to truly maximize the lifespan of your battery, try to avoid the extremes at either end. I put my watch on charge for a few minutes while I take a shower, and this generally keeps it somewhere in the middle of the range. And I will certainly feel no guilt by charging it to 100% on occasion before going on an extended hiking trip or travelling.

A common rule of thumb is you can expect a battery to lose 20% of its capacity over about 500 charge cycles. For soemthing like a phone being charged daily, you could reach this in about 18 months. If you assume a weekly charge cycle for an F8, its going to take 10 years to reach this. It's not really a concern.

  • Thank you very much for this very detailed answer.
