ECG available in EU

Hello everyone,

I would like to point out that there is STILL no ECG available in EU. Garmin had introduced it some time ago with (I believe) Venu 2 watches. Then Fenix 7 Pro came along. Now Fenix 8 since few months. But still no ECG in EU. When will it happen? I know it isn't the most important feature for many users but still there is such a feature built into the watch but we cannot use it yet. That's frustrating especially considering the price of the watch and the fact other manufacturers figured it out and you can use ECG in other watches. When will it come to EU? Can't it be at least not certified or something? Hope to get some answer and maybe some other feedback from you guys to see if it really is a big deal or maybe I'm the only one who's waiting for this.

A lot of people have Garmin asked this before, but you don´t get a meaningful answer, if they answer at all. They don't even answer whether this was even requested for the EU. It is well known that the EU's bureaucratic wheels grind for a long time (they could at least say: we applied for it from the EU...). So, whats the problem Garmin? I would not be surpriced, if they close or even delete this thread.

Very easy work around if you look on the internet to get it working.

The problem is, if you do the workaround and the ecg part of your watch is faulty - they will not replace via warrantly since it is not available in the UK/EU. My 2 year warranty ends in July so I am hoping they release it by then officially cos mine does not work!

It is amazing how most of the other major brands have ecg functionality in the EU and have for many years.I believe the venu 2 plus had ecg since Jan 2023 in the US so we are nearing 2 years since then.

Edited to add, I have a Fenix 7 Pro - not at time travelling Fenix 8 user.

If you don't enable it you won't know it's faulty... and it won't be replaced... so not a real issue.

Theres no problem, because lets be honest you are guessing.. You dont know that. People that travel to the US on vacation is able to enable the feature.

If you google, there are many tutorials to enable it. I'm in Spain and I enabled it without a problem. I don't post the tutorial here as might be against forum rules.

Yes but it doesn't work on the Fenix 8 solar. On the Fenix 7 pro it was no problem. Do you have any Ideas how to get it worked

Don't live in fear of warranty. It's so very unlikely you will need it.
