Fenix 8 - Setup

I've been waiting for my insurance discount to kick in or a Black Friday deal. It looks as though next week I'll be getting either the 47 or 51 Fenix 8 solar.

This is my plan on how to setup the watch:

No wifi - If I'm using Garmin Connect with my phone and Bluetooth enabled, I see no reason for wifi (no music for me)

Stock watch faces and apps - It seems as though some Connect IQ don't place nice with Garmin watches

Turn touch screen off - I like using the physical buttons

Are there any thoughts or suggestions that I should consider in setting up my new watch.

If you're gonna do that, might as well just buy a step tracker for 50 quid lol.

Hey kstate1980,

I think I know where you are going with this setup and it sounds like a good start.

My suggestion would be to add those settings, they should suit well the theme of your setup:

Set the volume to Mute All and disable vibration to avoid unnecessary distractions
Disable gesture and use the top left button only to turn the screen on
Disable Garmin Share
Disable Pulse Oximeter
Disable Move IQ
Disable Incident Detection
Disable Running Power
Set satellites to off if you are not planning to do GPS activities
Disable Record Temperature
