I use a Forerunner 165 and had the same issue regarding the timer/touchscreen. I frequently used the touchscreen with the timer over the past year, but after recent software upgrades, the touchscreen is…
Fenix 8 since last Update same Issue. Can not start, stop or reset stopwatch and timer per Touchscreen. Online with physic Buttons.
Garmin Please fix this issue!
Is there a separate touch on/off setting for timers?
I haven't found one. I have touch enabled and it works well in the timer's start "watch face", but it is off in the "running timer" screen. There are those action symbols displayed by the buttons but nothing happens when I tap on them (any of them). Physical buttons work only. The same for stopwatch.
There is no timers settings when I long press up button so I can't find a way to turn on touch.
I don't have auto lock enabled anywhere in the settings, if that matters.
UPDATE:
Thw watch is in the "touch on" state when the timer is running, yet touch screen doesn't work then.
I've just confirmed that in two ways when a timer was running:
I use a Forerunner 165 and had the same issue regarding the timer/touchscreen. I frequently used the touchscreen with the timer over the past year, but after recent software upgrades, the touchscreen is now inactive once I start the timer with the side button. I contacted Garmin and learned the following:
"The functionality of the touchscreen was disabled in the 21.19 across all x65 series to help prevent stopping the timer unintentionally.”
I suspect this is the same issue with the fenix series. Hoping they enable the touchscreen again in future software versions. I submitted this as a request at www.garmin.com/ideas
