I found some bugs in the Fenix 8's software and also have some suggestions that I believe would benefit everyone. I would very much appreciate it if Garmin would look into this if possible:
Editing fields in navigation screens:
In the new navigation screens in Fenix 8 (which are now separate), there is a lack of editing of fields / screens, I would like to, for example, to add/change data field to current time and it is impossible.
Shortcut to screen autolock
You can set 1 or 2 buttons shortcut to lock the screen completely, or even to lock the buttons and screen. But what is missing is an on/off new screen autolock (with swipe to unlock the screen). I would like to have a shortcut that I activate the autolock, and work only on additional swype, or when I press it again, the screen works fully.
Compass navigation - can not be removed from the activity
In the activity screens, You can select “compass navigation” - very cool, it then shows on each screen such a red arrow where the destination is - I like it very much. The bug I've noticed is that you can't remove it afterwards, because it doesn't show up as a data screen, it's just added as a data screen, but it disappears from the data screens.
Notification marker on Watch Face (without need to use the notification data field)
It would be very useful to have some kind of marker on the watch face that there are notifications. It's a waste to consume data field it (of course, you can, if you want to know how many) but in my opinion - as in other watches, e.g. Samsung, there should be a small dot at the top, or a small Garmin triangle, or some kind of small fading animation (e.g. some color of the bezel at the top, which after a while disappeared and appeared with each movement of the wrist lighting up the screen or returning to the watch face). It could be a toggle option to have it in Face Watch customization or in watch options.
A slightly larger font in the data fields on the main Watch Face
Iron Grid has a very small font when you set the weather, or HR as data field - it's practically impossible to see unless you're sitting still. It doesn't need to be much bigger, but it is a bit too small.
Animations in Watch Face customisation
The cool animations disappeared - after editing, the time always animated from 10:10 to the current time, and it made a great impression like in Apple Watch.
Editing hands in Analog Watch Face customisation
In the analog watch faces you can no longer choose the types of Hands - I really liked it, I had my favorites, now there is literally one for each analog face.
Request: Watch Faces from Epix Pro.
Now that the Fenix has AMOLED, I would really like the previous Watch Faces that were on the Epix Pro on it - usually subsequent models had previous and new Watch Faces - too bad they didn't in Fenix 8, some were really great. Those from IQ Store (e.g. All Stars ones) work badly and there are no such cool analog ones there anyway.
In walking activity, navigation works only in a straight line
I already reported this bug in a private message to @Garmin-Laurie - No matter how you set the settings, in Walking navigation works only in a straight line, without routing along roads and paths. It seems that not everyone has this bug, but several people here have already reported it too.
