Temperature Widget and Ant+ Tempe

On my previous Epix 2 and 2 Pro, the Temperature Widget after showing initially the temperature from the internal sensor would then activate the Ant+ Tempe sensor and show the external sensor temperature value together with minimum and maximum values.

On my Fenix 8 (11.90 and 12.09 beta), the Temperature Widget only shows the internal sensor temperature value and never activates/connects to the Ant+ Tempe.

Interestingly during an activity, the Ant+ Tempe activates automatically and shows the external temperature.

Am I missing a set-up somewhere, or is it another glitch of the Fenix 8 firmware??

Garmin disabled the Tempe sensor in one of the older updates. you will never see the temperature from Tempe again in the Widget. Tempe now only works in Activities like walking, hiking, running. the activity must be enabled to read Tempe. it's bad, but that's Garmin's decision. I also bought Teme for the temperature of the environment (inside, outside), since the thermometer in the Watch measures body temperature (even that is not accurate) and is practically unusable.

Try this widget in the CIQ app store. It's free.

When it starts, it shows the internal temperature and will show the same for the Tempe until it connects (that can take a minute or so).
