Old whatsapp messages are still flowing to my fenix 8

Hi All!

I have problem where old whatsapp messages are still flowing to my garmin fenix 8. It should only show the new incoming whatsapp messages, but not the old ones.

Anybody can chare similar experience and how to overcome are much appreciated.

The watch can only show what's in the phone notification (it has no other access to apps). And WhatsApp groups its unread messages into a single notification, so there's very little Garmin can do about…

This has been there for years already (on the previous watch models of course). I also thought this as a bug first but it seems they have done this intentionally this way. You need to read the message…

I have same issue. When I receive a new message, if any old messages are unread, I keep getting notifications for them

This has been there for years already (on the previous watch models of course). I also thought this as a bug first but it seems they have done this intentionally this way. You need to read the message from your phone (or maybe mark as read from watch) and then new messages will appear first. You can also scroll to the newest message if the old ones are at the top.

I believe it is not enough. All other smart watches (samsungs, apples and so on) can show only one message which is coming right now. All previous notifications do not appear, i know that garmin can fix it. There should be a way to fix this bug using the way other companies did it. I cannot accept that 2000 dollars watches cant do SIMPLE things in normal way. I understand that garmin is sport watch, and it can miss some features of smart watch, but this is really BASIC. I agree your issue should be resolved. From what I’ve seen elsewhere both Garmin and WhatsApp need to work together to resolve.

i don’t know who is dragging their feet but, if it’s WhatsApp, not much Garmin can do.
