Bug w/ 'Lock/Unlock Device' shortcut function

The 'Lock/Unlock Device' shortcut function does not work properly. I set START+DOWN to the 'Lock/Unlock Device' function. However, when pressing the shortcut keys, it sometimes unlocks the device when it is already unlocked (sometimes is properly locks the device).

Additionally, holding down on any key unlocks the device when it is locked. On the Instinct 2 Solar I have, you have the press the shortcut key combination (START+DOWN in this case) again to unlock it. That is preferable so that the device is not inadvertently unlocked when wearing gloves or bending your wrist.

I was just referred to this forum to voice this same problem with my device. Glad I found I’m not the only one with this exact problem. Having to press one button to unlock the device makes the device lock feature useless in our cases. Hopefully they can correct this relatively soon.

You can solve setting block and unblock with an unic botton (press for more time). I have not problem now

Do not use Start+Down to block. Set only Start and to unblock too

That doesn’t solve the problem. If you only set ‘start’ to lock/unlock, you can easily accidentally unlock the device when wearing gloves.

I just got the Fenix 8 and it is not useable for CrossFit, as I wear grips on my wrist and they will press and hold the start/stop button. Hence, my workout recording was stopped and started multiple times, although I have assigned the down key to lock/unlock. This is a dealbreaker for sure!!!! Can’t believe it is true!

I also had this issue, but only when wearing the watch on my right wrist.

On older Fenix models unlock behaviour was different depending on how it was locked:

when locked from Controls (circular menu) -> could unlock by holding any button
when locked by a Hotkey (now Shortcut) -> could only unlock using the same Hotkey/Shortcut

I agree that the shortcut for lock should require exactly same combination to unlock.
Otherwise accidental singular button presses still happen and device gets unlocked accidentally.
