The water ejection function will help the watch avoid long term damage from water. But it may still be necessary to allow this to dry up to 1 hour after being in the watch, even when using the water ejection…
Found this on Reddit
"long press left upper bottom, find Water Ejection. enjoy :-)"
It starts the feature. Haven't tried it yet to see if it actually ejects water.

It’s in the Controls menu (long light button press). If it isn’t there, you can add it.
don’t know if it will do it automatically after a swim or dive. It plays a low sound to push the water out.

To initiate this manually:
Thank you and all others who replied.
I have tried this and I hear the repeated tones but the water is not ejected from the speaker port. Tried it 3 times and the water did not move. I had to tap the watch on a towel to get the water out. Thankfully this is pretty easy.
Note, I had the speaker port facing down as instructed.
water ejection does not work. as it is very quiet. it's like a possibility, but it doesn't work. hopefully Garmin will fix it
Same here. The water ejection function makes a sound but then the speaker is always clogged and the sound coming out is totally distorted and low for at least an hour.
you have to blow out the water with your mouth
yes - its useless
best i found so far to start stop snorkel activity which comes with a high pitch sound
it kind of helps but the speaker volumr is still not on normal level
worst - there is no way to get the water out the micro - making any fenix 8 advertised sound processing features useless
We have to wait for Garmin to fix the speaker volume. a lot is written here about the low volume of the speaker in "some applications" where it is very noisy and where it is very quiet. Garmin knows about it, many tickets have been created for it. I think when they fix the volume, the water drain will also come in handy. it is currently unusable.
