2 watches and an empty box later and still no Fenix 8!

I ordered a new Fenix 8 51mm AMOLED from Cabelas. I received instead a used open box watch which had been returned as defective. They wouldn't pay shipping for the return so it cost me another $33. Still no refund though I'm told it's coming. I was visiting Maine and went to a Cabelas store, where they had one in a clear security box which I bought. Fortunately when I got back in my Jeep I checked and found that it was just an empty box. Turns out they sold me the display watch. Next I ordered one from another retailer and just got the watch this morning. During aetup I got the Blue Triangle of death. Speaking with Garmin support, they offered to ship me one as a replacement and at least sent me a prepaid shipping label. So far I've had every Fenix model released but this one is proving very hard to deal with.

Anyone else have the repeating blue triangle which locks the watch?

  • Are you serious about that Cabelas open box??

  • Just bought the Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm from Bass Pro and the seal was already broken. I looked at the watch and it seems fine, no damage and the power cord was still there. It must of just got returned because the watch was still powered on. I kept it because there was no damage to it.

  • Some years ago my Fenix 6 Pro came from Amazon with a box containing instructions only, They refused refund but did send me another. They are still sold on EBay: new. unused watch and cable only... I called Garmin and told them to block the watch as I still had the serial number on the box (still have) they said they couldn't? Back then there were no seals I assumed that's why they put the seals on, shame to hear this still happens, hope you can get the current one fixed ASAP
