Decent turn by turn when?

It has been asked times here, but I still can’t figure it… when is a decent turn by turn notification coming on the watch. I switched from Polar to Fenix8. In general very happy, but at least the failing polar had decent amd clear turn by turn navigation…

  • Garmin was always a synonym for navigation, but with the release of F8 they are quickly loosing all the trust. There are so many bugs with the navigation, their core field, it's really unbelievable...

    • missing elevation profile of the course
    • cannot pick and display special map layers (Topoactive regional)
    • watch restarting when swiping back from the map screen
    • no turn by turn notifications

Some are being slowly fixed, but still... there was no testing at all before the F8 release?

  • For Garmin, customers are all Beta tester, that is very sad. And we are all concerned, Forerunner x55/x65, Fenix 7 Series, V3/VA5, Edge

We do not need only new features, but stable product.

Only 1 month since product launch. It's not Garmin reativty, it's Garmin trying to catch the train of a 1000$ very buggy product.

  • Thought it was me who still needed to figure out the elevation profile but indeed… also missing.

  • I stand corrected, it's actually there... it's just very nonintuitive to get to that screen. During activity with the course loaded, you need to swipe to the left, click on the course field, and then you will see the navigation screens. Elevation profile is one of them, and you can then pin it to your "standard" data screens.

  • yes, and you can actually pin :

    - elevation profile

    - climbpro if active

    - up ahead if the current course is having points

it's still not where it should be, but that's a step in the right direction.

What's annoying so far, is that you can't get custom screens, or deactivate alerts while navigating...
