Did Garmin silently fix the algorithm for resting heart rate in 11.67?

Looking at 7d resting HR on my F8 before v11.67 it showed between 41-42. This seemed a bit low, as I usually have between 43-45.

After upgrading to 11.67 the 7d chart jumped to a more reasonable 43-45. There is nothing stated about this in the change log. Anyone else seeing this?

  • Definitely curious about this. I'm pretty sure the old algorithm was a very simple "lowest 30min average throughout the day".

It seems more complicated now, specifically it can get corrected upwards again. I spotted my RHR go down a little bit from the morning number during a period of calm, then stopped paying attention, and now it's back up to where it was when I woke up.

Would be nice to know what the new rules are, and even better would be if they retroactively correct historical day-to-day RHR numbers, since right now long-term trends are unreliable.
