Navigation Alerts (Turn by Turn/Off track)

Hi, I have upgraded from the Fenix 6 to 8. I really rely on the turn by turn notifications that were on the Fenix 6. I cannot find any option to enable these on the Fenix 8. Is this by design or a bug? Either way it is a huge backwards step or am I missing something to enable it? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the quick response. I am currently subscribed to beta and downloaded 11.84. However, I am still seeing issues. Do you know which version this is fixed on?

Went for a short walk and took both my Fenix 6 and 8 with me I used the same preloaded map on both. I made the changes on the Fenix 8 as mentioned in this thread

My observations -

- Fenix 6 was a lot better…

- Creating a course in Garmin Connect and sending it to watch (ensuring turn notifications are on)

- Creating a course from an existing activity.

This is a known bug, it will be solved with the next software update, it is currently solved in beta tests. Look for it in this forum next time, there are already many threads about it.

I have the same version. I couldn't find it in the menu either, but it navigated nicely on the tracks loaded on it. In the sound settings I chose the watch as output, it beeps and speaks in the turns.

let us know if this solve your problem because i'm using external headset and not got these tbt voice alerts (latest beta firmware).

in my instinct 2 i also got auto zoom in watch when turning point was close but nothing in fenix 8 :(

- Fenix 6 was a lot better experience, giving turn by turn alerts and zooming in when there was a turning point close. Unlike the Fenix 8

- The Fenix 8 didn't give me any turn alerts. It however did give me 2 other alerts. 1) 'off course' when I purposely went off course and 2) a voice alert when I was close to the finish of the course.

- The Fenix 8 also didn't give me a 'course completed' notification like the Fenix 6 did.

The Fenix 8 at the moment seems a backwards step for navigation and I really hope that these will get addressed in future software releases.

Many users have already reported these issues, so hopefully Garmin will be resolved soon. According to feedback, the beta version (11.84) doesn’t work in all cases, so it’s best to wait for an update. I understand there are numerous bugs, but for me, the voice navigation is functioning, although features like zoom and others are not working.

Is this for a course sent with TBT from Garmin Connect or is it when calculated on the watch? (For example - navigate to a destination)
