Fenix 8 - AOD goes off when putting palm on screen or after notification

My Fenix 8 turns off the screen even when AOD is ON after a notification times out (like from Whatsapp) or placing the palm on the watch. Why is that?

The "palm" covering is a feature.

One of the features I use the most after I finished viewing anything on the watch.

The Palm covering results in making my display go off. I dont think that is the intention. I am on the AMOLED.

That's strange. Mine certainly doesn't do that. Is it watchface specific? Does it happen with the stock watch face? Some watch faces break the AOD rules, so the watch turns AOD off.
