It opens all sorts of apps and glances. Some so deep it takes a while to back out of them.
I can't imagine this watch can be used for diving.

BBK.Paul is correct; start+down locks and unlocks the touch screen. Try to aquire the habit of locking the touch screen before a shower.
Secondly, if you are deep into the glances and want to back out…
You need to lock the screen. If you have not change the default short cuts, press <START> + <DOWN> will lock/unlock the touch screen.
Because Garmin did not add "Water on touchscreen" detection feature that turns it off automatically, you have to do that manually.
When the shower water hits the screen it registers as a touch. Used to happen to me to on my 7X SS. The touch screen lock on the F8 should stop this. You may have it disabled? No longer an issue for me on my enduro 3 with touch screen lock enabled.

Secondly, if you are deep into the glances and want to back out to home, use your other hand and put your entire palm over the watch face. That is the get-to-the-root shortcut.

Ah, I forgot the smother the face trick.

Is there a watch brand that has this feature?
No idea I only use Garmin. My E-Book Reader Koro Aura H2O from 2025 does this, It's not that complex.
The diving activities should automatically lock the touch screen as on MK3. However there is a double tap option to change screens which I did not test yet.
You should also lock the screen if you are running or hiking in the rain. I have read here some time ago this can stop an activity accidentally.
Yes. I've used Huawei gt runner for a couple of weeks, touchscreen(TS) management has just working. No complaints at all. By the way, OHRS was perfect too, compared to G.
All my Garmin watches (VA, FR) have this issue and TS must be manually disabled a TS if you don't want your watch face will be deleted :)
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! Cool! Thanks for the tip.
