Boat Data

I tried to enroll. got version now version 13.21v which seems to be from beta program.
afterwards tried to install Boat Data app, however not visible in ConnectIQ store on the phone app.
if I find it on website, I'm not able to download either. only my old Fenix 6X is given as an option as a target device, not the Fenix 8.

yesterday I got reply from Garmin to my support ticket from Garmin Europe:

you need to install "Boat Data" app, which you run on the phone and it connects to your Garmin chartplotter.

or "Fusion Audio" app to control your Fusion sound system.

so the whole problem is just to add Fenix8 to the Compatible device list and nothing more. as the app for sure is compatible with the new watch. I've been running it even on Fenix3 HR when it was released.. also used on Fenix6X, but now cannot install it on new Fenix8. really just a matter of adding an entry, and I'm surprised that Garmin is just ignoring this..

I registered as beta tester but not able to download and install boat data or fusion...

yes, joining beta testing does not solve anything for this issue.
Garmin should add Fenix8 as a compatible device for those apps; now the latest models are the 7 series.

Just checked Boat Data - now includes Fenix 8!!! 

Looks like the update was included with the latest / big Garmin watch update... I've install the app on my phone, but won't be boating for another couple months - anybody else been able to try this?

yes, looks like Garmin has finally taken care of it. they added Fenix 8 series as compatible device. and that's what it says as the App update from 27.2.2025. I'm also away from my boat, but I could now download the app to my watch and it's looking very promising.
