Fenix 8 sound beeps and vibration every second during outdoor running.

When I start outdoor running activity from the very start the watch starts to beep and vibrate every second.

After few runs I discovered it happens when first I connect ear plugs (headphones) to my iPhone via Bluetooth to listen to music. When I start activity sounds and vibration also start. I can also hear in the headphones a voice saying a number starting with 42..... The voice is repeating the message over and over again.

I guess it is something with having 2 devices connected at the same time to a phone via Bluetooth.

A temporary solution is to use a training for running activity, but then when it is finished the beeping, vibration and voice appear again.

Anyone having the same issue?

  • I have an issue with my Fenix 8 watch during outdoor runs too. When I start a run activity - and only run activity not other activities (cycle, swim, walk, rowing, strength training) - the watch constantly vibrates (and beeps). I have turned off the sound and vibration in the settings and when I turn them back on, the same problem occurs, but now it only vibrates continuously it does strangely not beep.

    I reached out to Garmin support, but instead of addressing the issue, they just told me how to turn off the sound and vibration, which I had already done. What I want is to keep the lap feedback while running, but without the constant vibrations. I have turned off the metronome, so the vibrations is not a pace-feedback issue. I have wondered if it might be related to pulse data feedback - If my pulse is to low or high in relations to pulse zones - but I have not figured it out yet. The watch continues vibrating all the way through my run and in different pulse zones, so the vibrations is probably due to something else.

    If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I will really appreciate it!

    I think it is frustrating because, given the price level of Garmin products, I would expect better support especially compared to competitors - not mentioning any names - with fast solution support within hours. It took Garmin days for a response that do not solve the problem - so I hope someone in the community can?

  • I have the exact same issue that i didn’t have with my fénix 6. Only during running activity also. I have no activity alarm set. Did not manage to solve that issue  yet. I am also interested in any good idea. 

  • I had the same issue today with treadmill run - it never happened before. I reset the the settings for treadmill activity and no more issue afterward.

    No idea what happened, but it seems solved.

  • I had a dialogue with Garmin, who helped to solve the issue, which it seem to be after an updated firmware and a reset of the setting for the run activity.
