My Fenix 8 AMOLED takes at least 30 seconds to get a GPS fix (all satellites + multiband) and its not the first time i have used GPS with this watch, so it should have downloaded all satellite info? My old Fenix 7X took maybe 5 seconds at the same spot. Anyone else with this issue?
What do you mean by "5 minutes"? my watch is connected for hours to the phone and the Garmin connect app every day. I receive notifications from the phone on the watch. And I had no problem with my Fenix…
If you want to determine whether your EPO / CPE is in fact up-to-date or not, this procedure worked on previous watches:
- From the watchface, hold UP for the menu
- Select System > About
- Scroll down…
My F8/51-Amoled usually catches a signal and shows GPS readiness 50 to 75 seconds after putting it out in the open :(
