Went for a run yesterday with my new 43mm fenix 8. I’m using Spotify for my music and AirPods Pro 2 for my headphones. Within minutes the audio starts to sound choppy and staticky, but resolves temporarily when I press the play/pause button. The audio will again start to sound staticky within minutes, or even in one instance I lost audio completely in the right headphone. It will resolve again when I press play/pause. I had to do this over and over again to make it through a run.
I tested the headphones again indoors last night with the watch and I could not recreate the issue. I then went outside and walked (without activity tracking on) and the issue didn’t start. Once I started a walking activity, again within minutes the audio gets choppy again.
I’ve seen numerous posts now regarding this same issue but with different garmin watches, but I haven’t seen any conclusive solution to this issue. What’s the fix for this? I’ve never had any issues with my AirPods on any other device. I’ll be returning the watch ASAP if the issue persists.
