Fenix 8 51 Speaker Volume during Phone Calls

I just made a test call using the Fenix 8 51 and despite having the volume at the highest level, I can barely understand the other party. You have to hold the watch right up to your ear to understand the other party...it's quiet here in the office and I can barely understand it...how is that supposed to work when you're running or doing other outdoor sports...is it like that for you too? If it stays like this, the speaker is really completely useless for making phone calls....

Phone assistant volume, same issue...much to quiet!

i have some bad news for you. Its hardware limitation. The speaker is not enough powerfull.

It makes no difference whether the voice volume is set to 10% or 100%. That tells me it's a software bug.

I hope that it is a bug..I have the same problem with low volume...It needs to be fixed ASAP

The Garmin puts out almost identical sound volume as the Samsung Watch Ultra. Both peak at about 79db at max volume. The Samsung one sounds considerably louder and fuller. It comes down to how the speaker is positioned within the watch. Essentially the Samsung would be a sealed speaker in a box and the Garmin is more free air. Considering the db levels were identical its not a hardware or software problem but just how the speaker is going to sound within the frame of the watch. What we got is as good as it can get. Another example is the almost no jump in sound after about 60%. The enclosure at that point is the biggest factor as increasing power would exceed the speakers capacity and or just crackle and distort due to the enclosure. Software cant change physics on this one.
