I have the Vivoactive 5 and am having this problem as well. Came here looking for answers, haven't found any yet.
Have tested a workaround that works! (Android latest version)
1. Uninstall FB Messenger
2. Go to uptodown.com and download November version of FB Messenger version 485.2.0.68.111

Haven't tried other apps.
Perhaps they have added the issue to all models, so that is not (again) an "only" new F8 series issue...
This maybe related or not. The messenger app that they released few months ago is also part of Garmin InRreach system. It can use cell or satellite (if you have InReach subscription) depending on your coverage to send messages. In case of satellite service, they announced they will discontinue the social media sharing feature sometime this summer....
